Chicken wings. Potato chips. Sweet potato fries. Onion rings. Roasted vegetables.
You name it, I have tried making it in the Air Fryer. At first, when I bought my Air Fryer, I wasn’t sure how often I’d use it. In fact, I sort of regretted buying it because I figured I didn’t need one more ‘gadget’ hanging around my apartment. But once I broke it out for the first time and realized how fast, efficient, and easy it is to use, I knew I had made the right decision.
Air Fryers are ALL the rage right now. Definitely one of the “food fads” of the year. But regardless of whether or not they remain popular or not on the foodie scene, I know I’ll be using mine for a long time to come. Partly because I LOVE the way it cooks many staple foods that I usually use the oven for; and partly because I’ve discovered some pretty cool uses for it that you won’t find in any Air Fryer manual or recipe book.
Namely…BAGELS!
Make Mini Bagels in the Air Fryer
Yup, that’s right. After seeing a few people attempt to make bagels in their Air Fryers on social media, I thought it was time to try my hand at the experiment! Everyone I saw was going the sweet route, so obviously, I had to be different and go SAVORY. It makes sense since my favorite kind of bagel is Everything anyways.
The Air Fryer bagel recipes I saw on social media all required some sort of dairy ingredients or eggs to make them. But I wondered if I could make a vegan recipe that would work just as well!
Equipped with a few key ingredients, I got to mixing and shaping.
Vegan Everything Air Fryer Mini Bagels
Delicious mini bagels without any boiling or baking, or yeast! Soft and fluffy inside, crispy and perfectly seasoned on the outside.
The unsweetened vegan yogurt made these bagels turn out as perfectly as they did. It kept them moist, soft, and fluffy without any added dairy, eggs, or oil. Alternatively, you can also use regular plain Greek yogurt if you want!
How to Make Vegan Everything Air Fryer Mini Bagels
These Everything mini bagels are made by mixing flour, seasonings, yogurt, and baking powder. When your dough is formed, you split it into three equal portions and roll it into thin long logs that can be formed into circles (bagel shape!). Then, wet the top with almond milk and sprinkle on the seasonings. You could make these sweet by adding cinnamon and sweetener or leave them plain without any seasonings.
After forming the bagels, cook them in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. The result is perfectly toasted mini bagels with a soft, fluffy interior!

WOW! I didn’t realize you could make bagels in an air fryer! I’ve never tried this or thought of this before! I have an air fryer and absolutely love it. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
I need an airfryer. Thanks for sharing at the What’s for Dinner Party.

Is this something I MIGHT be able to make in a regular or toaster oven? I love the idea but have no air fryer
I think it’s definitely worth a try! Maybe try at the same temp and for the same amount of time in the oven? And just keep a close eye on them! Let me know if it works for you. 🙂

These are some delicious bagels. I was also not aware that they can be made in an air fryer. I also loved the way you have done the topping. Thanks for sharing. I will try this in my kitchen.

I make these little bagels but use yogurt . I would like to switch to a vegan product but can’t find a low fat coconut? Do you think they make it?
What would be the best substitute for oat flour? I am allergic to oats but love everything else about this recipe.
Thanks,
Ashley

I’d love to try these but I am grain free. Might this recipe work with either almond flour or perhaps sunflower seed flour?
Do you think that coconut cream would work as a substitute for the dairy free yogurt? Thanks!!
Would it be possible to omit the pumpkin?
Hi! Do you think I could sub oat flour for equal parts (or less?) whole wheat? Thanks!
I ended up doubling the amount of oat flour trying to make these not sticky enough to roll into balls and even that didn’t work. Tried to wet my hands and even that was a mess. After about an hour of effort I just threw the whole thing away
Hi! No one else has had this experience with this recipe. It’s actually one of my most popular recipes and has been tested by/featured in numerous publications. If it is not followed exactly, I cannot vouch for results.
I love bagels. – we eat them a lot. Thanks for sharing at the What’s for Dinner party – hope to see you there this Sunday. Have a fantastic weekend.
These were actually so delicious to eat! I made the 1 serving of 5 but wish I made more because I just scarfed down 2 with cream cheese and they were DELICIOUS!
Will be making these all the time thank you!!

I’ve done something wrong I think. I only had gluten free coconut flour on hand. From what I can tell, a single serve so delicious yogurt is 5.3 ounces (I buy the 24 oz tubs), but that wasn’t nearly enough wet to overcome the dry. I added a little more yogurt, but it didn’t seem to help. I finally just patted them down into thin biscuit shapes and cooked them in the air fryer. They were terrible! Any thoughts?
Can’t use coconut flour. As the recipe states, you need oat flour OR you can use regular wheat/white flour. Coconut flour need 2-3x more liquid when you’re baking with it. Typically a recipe will provide substitutions where possible…in no way would coconut flour EVER work with this recipe. They were terrible because the recipe was not followed.
That makes sense! I knew I was doing something wrong. I’m new to gluten free, so I need to learn the particulars of the different types of flours. Thanks for the heads up!
You’re welcome! I have a lot of recipes that use coconut flour that you could make…but for these GF oat flour is a necessity! 🙂
Started over with GF all purpose flour. Amazing! And quite frankly better than my local bagel shop’s GF bagel. And cheaper! Lol. I will check out your other recipes! Thanks again!

Can you make extras and freeze them?
I made these using a single serve of Fage 0% yogurt. The dough was dry and not sticky. They did not rise at all. Was it because I didn’t use the SoDelicious yogurt. The taste was great and they are super easy so hoping that was my mistake using the wrong yogurt ?
The type of yogurt could definitely be the issue! I’ve only made these according to my original recipe so I can’t say that any deviations away from that would work. I am glad you liked the flavor though!
What brand of flour did you use? And do you think these are better made gluten free or with regular flour? TIA
I just pinned your awesome post to our Features Pinterest Board. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Full Plate Thursday, 643, and come back to see us soon!
