MUSKEGON, MI — Muskegon families in need of diapers, wipes and other baby supplies can find assistance through Priority Health.
The health care system is donating $30,000 worth of supplies to help an estimated 300 Muskegon-area families during a diaper drive with Catholic Charities West Michigan.
The diaper drive will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Catholic Charities West Michigan’s office, 1720 Park Street in Muskegon.

The diaper drive is motivated by an estimated 700,000 people in Michigan losing Medicaid coverage as the state rolls back federal expansions prompted by the pandemic.
Congress enacted the Families First Coronavirus Response Act that required state Medicaid agencies continue health care coverage for all medical assistance programs, even if someone’s eligibility changed. That expansion grew Michigan’s Medicaid caseload by more than 700,000.
During the diaper drive, Priority Health will have a Medicaid specialist on site to answer questions about renewals and assist with filling out renewal forms. Michigan residents who would like help with their Medicaid forms may need to provide proof of age, income, citizenship, disability or other health coverage if they would like on-site help.
