I recently did a morning at the Keswick Hall Spa, and it was so lovely I had to share for those in the Charlottesville area looking for a spa day!

I received a blog comment recently asking me what my favorite spa in Charlottesville was. I didn’t have a great answer! I go to various places for massages, facials, and the occasional nails, but I had yet to find a day spa that gave off a real spa vibe. Ever since Keswick Hall went through a huge renovation a few years ago, going to their spa had been on my bucket list. It’s definitely on the high end with services starting at $230 for 60 minutes and going up from there, so I had not yet prioritized an appointment in my YNAB budget! But with spa days on the mind, I texted my friend Julie who had been before and asked her if it was worth it. 100%, she said! And so we booked facial appointments together for the following week.

I was SO impressed by the Keswick Hall Spa that I took some photos and had to write a recap about it. This post isn’t sponsored in any way – I just wanted to share. If you’re in the Charlottesville area, this is the place to book a special spa day!

And if you’re visiting from out of town, Keswick Hall is an incredibly nice luxury resort just outside of Cville. Everything there is beautiful, including the infinity pool and restaurants. Thomas plays golf at Keswick occasionally with friends and it’s one of his favorite courses.

When I’m looking to book a spa treatment, I want the works: robes, a sauna, a relaxation room. All of those extra things are as nice as the treatment itself! Julie and I booked our facials for 11:15 and arrived early so we could enjoy the full experience. Each locker room has an infrared sauna, a steam room, beautiful showers, a makeup area, and lockers. Upon our arrival, we changed into cozy robes and slippers.

Sauna + Steam Room

I couldn’t wait to lounge in the sauna. Julie and I talked for 45 minutes while we sweat! I tested out the steam room too, which was, of course, steamy, and lovely.

Showers

We took showers to rinse off before heading to the relaxation room and wait for our treatments. I loved all of the products in the spa, from the lotions to the aloe facial spritz you could use after your shower.

The Relaxation Room

The co-ed relaxation room is where you wait for your treatment. They had hot tea, flavored waters, pecan bread and granola to snack on. Sitting on those day beds with a fleece blanket was absolutely heavenly.

I tried the cucumber mint chlorophyll water!

Botanical Facials

I didn’t get a photo of the treatment room, but one nice touch I loved was the heated towel warmer to hang my robe on! My facial was incredible, and you can tell how professional they take their services.

We relaxed a bit more before we headed up to get some lunch.

Marigold

If you are local and haven’t been to Marigold, I would highly recommend coming! It’s open to the public. I’ve had both lunch and dinner there once before.

We kept it casual and shared two pizzas!

The Recap

What a wonderful half day! Because of the amenities, robes, and large relaxation area, the Keswick Hall Spa would make a great place for a friends day, mother/daughter day, a bachelorette getting ready event, or a special gift for anyone in your life who needs some R&R. While it’s on the high end, all those extra bells and whistles that are included are what makes a spa day so special. Compared to the other high end spas I’ve been to (Fearrington, Primland, Four Seasons), I really can say this was the nicest experience! The only thing they are missing is a spa pool and hot tub : )

Wouldn’t Churton and Bocker love to hang out with this bear!
