Try these 3 hot beverage ideas to warm you up on a cold winter night, on Christmas morning, and beyond!

Vanilla Hot Cocoa Recipe

In a small pot over low-medium heat, add 2 tsp cocoa powder, 1 tbsp sugar, and a splash of milk to create a paste.  Then add 1 cup milk (or almond milk or soy milk) and 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract and whisk together.  Remove from heat and pour into your favourite mug, serve with a cinnamon stick if desired which can also be used as a delicious stir stick, enjoy!

Hot Apple or Cranberry Cider

Place cranberry juice or apple juice in a pot. Add a pinch of cinnamon (or a cinnamon stick), a few whole cloves and a sliced orange and heat until warm. Serve in your favourite glass with a piece of star anise or a cinnamon stick to garnish, enjoy!

Mulled Red Wine 

Add a 2 to 1 ratio of red wine to apple juice and place in a pot over low-medium heat.  Add a drizzle of honey to taste and cinnamon sticks, a few whole cloves, a few star anise and a zested and juice orange and bring to a boil and then simmer for 10 minutes.
