I’m sharing some Christmas season pics, our new art, and other merry things before shutting down the KERF HQ for the holidays.

Ho Ho How are you?

We are ready for Christmas! The boys’ last day of school was the 15th, so this week has been full of activities. Like last year, I’m planning to pause publishing new blog posts and newsletters while the kids are home from school for winter break. So this is likely my last post till 2024! (We are heading out on a festive family trip today so I may end up posting a quick recap of that on Monday if it’s photo heavy!)

Our tree is back in its happy corner of the living/dining room!

New Star Wars ornament from Aunt Layton!

The wreath is back on the door but with a different door and different color this year!

Same stockings, new mantle

There are more subtle hints of the season around, like this golden pinecone tree in the built-ins.

Lindsay Letters Art

A not-so-subtle addition to the living room is our new Lindsay Letters Art. We settled on Plant Shop for its color palette and it brightens up our neutral room!

I love that there are frame options so you don’t have to do that part on your own. We went with the light wood to match our floors/mantel.

I also bought this birch tree print on an impulse. Birch had to have it for his room! We got the same frame. I love it, and so does he!

Christmas Brunch + Bar Crawl

A highlight of this holiday season was a Christmas brunch and a bar crawl following.

My go-to holiday costume is my Mrs. Claus apron I got years ago. I love that I can wear it over an all black outfit and can remove it at any time!

We gathered with a large group of friends, in costume, and played party games. I did not drink 12 drinks for the 12 days of Christmas – I had lots of water + mocktails + a few real drinks.

Other Holiday Season Activities

Happy 70th John Donne!

Making Gingerbread cookies!

We used this recipe.

Hey Clay Set

HIGHLY recommend this clay set! It comes with an iPad app that shows your child step by step how to build. While Birch does need supervision, he is great at building them! Only downside is each instructions set is $.99. But it’s been worth the $10 investment so far!

Getting new tires on our car.

Merry Christmas to us (ugh). I worked in a nearby coffee shop while the Highlander was under anesthesia.

Lots of fun at Decades Arcade

Cville’s best rainy day activity!

Shark Robot

Sending the Shark Robot to timeout after it tried to eat Birch’s lined up Legos while we were out.

Holiday Fashion

I love a good Mrs. Claus apron that I can put over any holiday dress and arrive in character : )

I got these two dresses from Short Story (a clothing delivery company for those under 5’4″!) and they were both keepers. A classic black with a handkerchief bottom –

And this pretty green long dress!

I also bought myself a new purse. I really wanted a lightweight canvas or nylon backpack style purse to wear when I’m walking / moving, and I found this one from ORI London over Black Friday on sale!

It’s the perfect size, super lightweight, and fits my laptop (barely!)

I was gifted these Lake PJs by my wonderful VA Hillary and LOVE them! They are the perfect length and so soft!

Have a wonderful holiday and a happy new year!
