Alec Musser’s Ex-Girlfriend Pays Tribute After His Death

Alec Musser’s Ex-Girlfriend Pays Tribute After His Death

All My Children star Alec Musser‘s ex-girlfriend is paying tribute to the late actor, who died by suicide last week.

“Alec was born with a pair of skis in one hand and a surfboard in the other. He had a spirit that was competitive in the most jubilant ways. I’m one of the many he taught to ski,” Lacy Faddoul wrote in a statement to PEOPLE, reflecting on their time together.

She shared that Musser, who played Del Henry on All My Children from 2005 to 2007, was a stickler for eating healthy, but also indulged in foods such as pizza, cookies and root beer. He loved motocross and surfing.

During their three-year relationship from 2011 to 2014, Musser and Faddoul spent time together in picturesque places like Mexico and loved taking sunset walks in Del Mar, California, with his dog, Callie, at their side.

Faddoul, who has appeared in The Bachelor franchise, said she admired Musser’s passion, spirit of adventure and caring nature.

“Thank you for teaching me what it feels like to be treated so well in a relationship. I will love you forever, and you will forever shine through the sunsets,” she wrote to Musser in her statement.

Faddoul also noted that she remained close friends with Musser — who also appeared in a 2011 episode of Desperate Housewives — after their relationship ended, and said she last spoke to him in December.

“We don’t ever know just how bad someone is hurting until you are faced with the devastating news that they took their own life. He is now at peace,” she wrote. “Never skip an opportunity to tell those you care about that you love them. Life is so fragile.”

On Tuesday, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office (SDCMEO) revealed that Musser died by suicide from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

His fiancée, Paige Press, confirmed his death on Instagram. “RIP to the love of my life,” Press wrote at the time. “I will never stop loving you. My heart is broken.”

According to the SCDMEO’s press statement, Press is the person who found Musser “slumped forward on the bathroom floor” with a shotgun nearby him on the morning of Jan. 13. He was last known to be alive when Press went to sleep on the night of Jan. 12.
